  • Sometimes IPR cant be stopped

I had this with a variety of scenes. Maybe it happens when I make changes too quickly, but I am not sure. I cant reproduce this accurately either, so I can only report what I am occasionally experiencing- sorry about that.
Sometimes IPR is stuck, mostly at pass 0, and I cant stop it using either ESC button or the red x button. When I try to intervene by starting a production render it is then stuck at transforming vertices and I have to quit 3ds max (which is still responding and kindly asks me to save). If I started production rendering after the hikkup of the IPR, max mostly wont close as the VFB is in control I guess.
    Using nightly vray_adv_40301_max2015_x64_28285.
This happens both on GPU and CPU.
    How else can I help?

    Hello,

Next time this happens to you - could you create a dump file from max - right click on the 3dsmax.exe in the task manager and then "Create dump file". The file itself could be quite big, but should compress well. After that - send us the dump file together with the exact V-Ray version you are using and we can check what is Max/V-Ray doing at that time.

    Best regards,
    Yavor

The issue in the dump seems GPU related.
If you get the same with CPU unfortunately the problem might be different - if it happens with CPU can you make one dump from it too ?

I only had this problem with GPU, I will test the scene with cpu for you though . I'll get back.

Definitely happening only with GPU. I just send another scene and a few dump files to support, as it contains data under NDA.
Would be great to get some feedback when you found the culprit.
