  • White dots in gloss material

    Hi

    I can't get rid of these over illuminated white tots/areas in my galvanized material. Only if I turn of the HDRI as global reflection, they disapear. Unticking Clamp output don't work either...!! Also on my wood material, who just have a slight reflection on it....

    Do you try using "Max ray intens." ?

        Have you tried turning on Sub-Pixel Mapping in the color mapping section? I know the tooltip says it should typically be off but from many scenes it has helped with hot-pixels, you can also try turning on clamp output in the same section to prevent over-bright pixels.

        One or both of these settings have helped me in the past when you sometimes get weird white jaggies on spec highlights or over-bright pixels so might be worth trying.

          katego5 Hi, we had a chance to look at the scene and it looks like you have Max ray intensity turned off, which in combination with the glossy reflection on the wood material and the bright hdri in the reflection override, produces the dots. If you turn it back on they should disappear.

              I get the same problem,
              V-Ray - ColorMapping - Clamp outpout fixed the problem instantly !
