  • Vray NEXT - Adaptive Domelight lighting element problem.

    Hello everyone.

I am having a problem on the lighting element when using the Adaptive Domelight option. It is happening since first Beta version.

The only way to clean those patches, is by disabling the MIS option on the advanced options on dome light. Or, just disable Adaptive Dome Lights.

Sometimes is just on lighting render element, but it happens on beauty pass now and then.

This is a test scene, but it is happening in all of my scenes.

    Anybody with the same problem?

Nobody has an answer for that? This is one of the main changes on vray NEXT and is not working properly. Could someone help me solve this issue?

There are several posts related to this issue. I was having it in beta. I am sure the brainiacs are working on it and they'll have a fix soon.

This will be fixed (it's one of the reasons the adaptive dome is still "WIP"), but in the meantime you can use a VRayLightSelect render element in "direct diffuse" mode, and add all lights to it. You can use the "indirect diffuse" mode for the global illumination respectively. Eventually the VRayLighting and VRayGlobalIllumination render elements will be reworked to use a VRayLightSelect under the hood in this way.

        Best regards,
        Vlado
