  • Rounded Corners - Integrated into the Shader rather than using VRayEdgesTex Node

    Hi

I'm working with CAD data daily at Logitech. The designers rarely add edges to their data.
It's a bit of a hassle to add the node to each shader, use comp maps or VRay Bump materials all the time.

Could this be integrated into the shader at all like many other renderers have done?

    Would be an awesome help!

    Thanks

    Adam

No, it probably won't happen unfortunately. We have many materials, and adding all the rounded edges options to all of them seems a bit over the top. Corona had these options in the material and they were later removed actually in favor of a CoronaRoundEdges texture. The texture approach allows you to connect one single texture to many materials and control the rounded corners functionality from one place.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

I agree on what vlado said
I think it is also easy to write a scrip that add this map to lets say selected objects with pre defined value.

Simply, I love to put pixels together! Sounds easy right : ))
