  • vray user scalar / colour to work with vray lights!

    Hi folks!

I've got a shot with a load of similar lights and when I was trying to be clever (this rarely works out) I thought I'd use a vray user colour map so I could tint the softbox map slightly differently on each light while keeping my instancing for size / multiplier. Would it be difficult to support this?

    Cheers,

    John

The problem is that at the moment instanced lights are exactly equivalent in all settings, including color. So allowing the color to vary from one instance to the next would mean we actually have to duplicate the data structures for the lights. It's not impossible, but takes some coding.

        Best regards,

Don't know if it helps in your case but it is possible to use the vrayMultiSubTex in ObjectID mode to individually change the color of instanced lights.
German guy, sorry for my English.
