  • overide the overide

alltough im not a big fan off too many overides and options etc.
It would be very very usefull, for me atleast, to have an option in the vraymat to overide the global material overide.
So i can choose wich materials i want to stay as is and wich to have the global material.

    Thank you

Yes, I have been meaning to ask for this one too, for me I would rather it be an vray object property. Both would be great.

Good idea RErender, I think having a override switch in the vray obj properties would be cool, and easier to trouble shoot if you have a bad material some where

both then.. i tend to have many objects sharing a material.
easy to just switch it in material than rather select objects by material then go to vrayprops. But i see good use for both.

I have thought the same. My vote would be for a "Ignore Override" switch in the material, but I can see a vray prop as well.

I think this would be great for the material. I typically have to frz the clear glass materials while computing a "test" GI solution with an ov3erride on everyting else.

i think what we really need is a new material editor.
and proper ways to access sub/materials as nodes.
custom override stuff can be scripted...but it may cost memory.
what would you do with it? exclude glass from override, or something more complex?

It would be handy in setting up matte layers
