Intel vs. AMD compiled Vray

I noticed the Vray Log says Vray was compiled with the Intel compiler. Does AMD have a C++ compiler? Would there be a speedboost on AMD systems?

Unfotunately, AMD does not have its own compiler.

There are two widely used compilers at this time - the Microsoft one that ships with Microsoft Visual C++ and the Intel C++ compiler. We are using the Intel compiler since the code it produces runs with a few percent faster then the MS one, even on AMD machines.
