  • Is Vray on board for better 3ds max viewport display (PBR) in the new public road map ???

    https://area.autodesk.com/blogs/the-...ds-max-public/

3ds max seems to be putting emphasis on improved PRB viewports with simplified controls. Will Vray be involved in this process???

Even simple lighting and material feedback for Vray in the 3ds max viewport would make a world of difference. Is this something we can look forward too?

    fingers crossed...

As much as IPR has been getting better and better, I still find it can either crash unexpectedly, or take a while to startup (especially on larger scenes). Viewport IPR suffers from some of these same problems. I'd definitely appreciate better viewport previewing of bump/normal, reflection/metalness, or more complex nodes like VRayMultiSubTex and VRayDistanceTex. The Physical Material does a much better job at the moment for doing viewport PBR, is it possible to mimic this with the VRayMtl?
