  • V-Ray Standalone should be able to cache assets.

    Hey folks,
it is a bit frustrating to see that there is no option in the standalone renderer to keep assets loaded.

When I render a rather long sequence, with each frame, the standalone renderer reloads all the assets that are linked in the vrscene file instead of keeping them loaded in between frames. Currently this behavior creates a lot of redundancy and unnecessary network load. Do you guys see any way to improve here in the future?

    Thank you!

This doesn't seem normal. Could you send a simple scene with such an asset (which the standalone application loads every frame) to support@chaosgroup.com so we can take a look? Also, please provide information about your 3ds max, V-Ray and OS versions and a link to this forum thread in the e-mail.
