  • 1 dome light with multiple inputs for reflection and or refractions

    Hello,

I don´t know how others might comp their visible backgrounds on 3dsmax, but i use multiple vray dome lights and toggle their affect diffuse/affect specular/affect reflections, to get a different hdri for sun intensity and others for reflections and direct visibility.

We don´t like to use 2 vray dome lights, because you always have to link those lights to rotate together, and their reflections/refractions sometimes mix with each other. Therefore, a single dome light with multiple inputs might be useful. Similar to the vray environment tab, but better.

    Tks guys!

      Hello,

The idea is to use high quality hdri that has enough resolution to comp on render. Since vray dome locks the texture to rotate with each other, tweaking the rotation is not very useful using the BG in VFB.

If we use the standard vray environment tab, the rotation of the hdri won't rotate with the vray dome light lock with texture option.
