  • Show Map in Viewport button

I've noticed that with standard materials, you can hit this button at the top level of the material, but with Vray materials, you can only do it on individual maps.

It's just being a pain now because I am taking my group of Low Poly cars and converting them all to Vray mats. I have to open each multi/sub object material, go to the diffuse map and check this button, instead of just being able to do it at the top level. Doing this on 20 cars is taking a loooong time.

I bet there is way to script that, but I have no clue about how that works.

    Tim,

We have a script for this. I'll post it for you first thing Monday morning. If you need it before then let me know I'll see what I can do.

Thanks Corey. That would be great.

I finished the cars, so you can post it whenever you get a chance. I'm sure I will be able to make good use of it later. Scripts rock!

Im pretty sure with RC3 the top level show in viewport button now works as expected with vray materials.

But even still, a script would be quicker

Ha, RC3? I wish. We are still on Max8 & 1.47. A little hesitant to make that jump still.

That makes 2 of us! Not too big of a deal. After 3 or 4 cars it becomes pretty robotic.
