  • Crypomatte: layer organisation

I am currently looking for ways to automate the generation of masks. until recently I have been assiging ID's to objects and materials and let PSD-Manager handle the output. But doing this each time for large projects with a lot of revisions takes too much time.

Would it be possible that, as an option on the current matting possibilites, Cryptomatte merges mattes into one matte based on layer, selection sets, user-defined namepart, etc?

Another possibility would be that the matte-name next to the entity-name (like the object), also contains the layername, or selection set name. That way a PShop script could handle the rest. Problem then would still be that when there are over 1000 mattes, the specific naming (by IO-EXR import) is lost in PShop and all layers have the same base name, making it impossible to work with.
