Maybe it was asked before but it would be great if the gizmo picks up the dimensions of applied texture.

A decal applies a shader, so there could be textures of different dimensions in it, along with procedurals.
I'd debate having a button to browse to a texture on disk and match its size as being less work than simply matching the proportions of one's chosen texture by hand on the decal controls.
How did you think it should work?Lele

That true, textures might come with different dimensions but in most cases we (or at least I) would like to keep diffuse texture dimensions. I was thinking it might work as uvw map bitmap fit option. So it could be a tick box in vraydecal parameters to pick up the texture dimensions automatically (which I am sure will not cover all possible scenarios) or additional slot where we can drag the texture from applied material (just like mask texture).

Matching only one bitmap would end up stretching the rest.
It's easier to set the individual map to RWS, and avoid stretching that way, i think.
I'll ask for some feedback to the devs, anyway.Lele

Just to note here that this is already planned for the next major release. Two buttons will be added:
Button "Fit aspect ratio to bitmap" - opens a browser window for picking a bitmap for matching its aspect ratio.
Button "Fit aspect ratio to material" - resizes VRayDecal to match the aspect ration of the first eligible texture (bitmap) in the assigned material (procedural textures are ignored).
If it was that easy, it would have already been done
