  • „Save in image” option for sRGB Display Correction

I can work around it with Lookup table layer while rendering in sRGB but in ACEScg through Filmic AMPAS this option would be nice to have.

plus sRGB it is quite a questionable default in 3dsMax without an option to save it.

    Hello,

sRGB is already applied when saving to 8bit formats. When saving through Max output - then Max applies those corrections.

But Max can only do gamma correction while saving. I would like to have an option to save sRGB from VFB not gamma 2.2. like it works with Display Correction: OCIO (with Save in image option ticked)

        Hey Marcin,

This last screenshot at the end, is using Filmic tonemap layer with type set to AMPAS, and Display Correction set to none?
This doesn't match any of the OCIO ACES ODTs.. It is an artistic look..
Your goal here is to be able to burn the filmic layer AMPAS preset to 8-bit image? or burning the ACES sRGB View when OCIO is loaded?

The current behavior I personally believe is the correct one, or I don't understand what you want here

examples are sRGB primaries renders only, no ACEScg.
yes, all are with Filmic Tonemapping AMPAS layer.

the goal is to see the render in the VFB through sRGB Display Correction layer and save it with that exact correction, not gamma 2.2.
Basically “save in image” option for sRGB Display Correction.
