  • add "by layer" option to vray distance texture

Merging in objects that have vray distance textures break if the referenced object isn't merged in at the same time as the primary object. if that referenced geometry already exists in the scene the incoming geometry does not acknowledge it and breaks if skipped on merge. Light Selects render elements used to do the same type of thing before "by layer" was added just look at a layer contents instead of distinct object names.

Perhaps there is a better way to do this but I have many tree assets that I'd like to merge into a scene and have some blending with the ground material. Having to reestablish the distance object over and over again is very time consuming.

Any work arounds for this are quite welcome.

    Thanks

      +1 for this one
Especially with complex shaders that might have multiple distance maps and many objects to add, the process to "Fix" the shader is time consuming .
Please up the priority on this one.
      Thank you.

Simply, I love to put pixels together! Sounds easy right : ))
