  • VrayDisplacementMod: Support for UDIM in 2D mode

    Well,
basically as the title says. It seems most other DCC packages can render this with V-Ray (for Maya it is even mentioned in the docs), so it should be available for 3dsMax as well to make things equal.

Hi, the task is not trivial. At this point, there isn't further development on the issue due to its complexity and the fact that only a few people mentioned the need for this feature in 3ds Max.
It's not feasible for us to take the feature from Maya and just integrate it in 3ds Max.

          That's sad.
2D mode is much faster and easier on the memory. But without support for UDIM, it is useless.
In 3D mode there was no way to match the visual quality of 2D without crashing because V-Ray runs out of memory on our 128gb workstations.

                I also have one vote.

Is this a problem with the 3dsMax API?

Still crossing my fingers for the implementation of this in 3dsMax.

Would have been helpful on two of our recent projects. Had to work around. +1
