In my opinion shadows option should be renamed into recieve shadows, because it will be easier to understand its purpose.

is that the affect shadows option your talking about?

no, affect shadows is in vray material, this is wrapper to use for matte surfaces. In it shadow option specifies that the matte surface will recieve shadows cast by other objects from a direct light. What I want is to change this to recieve shadows or recieve matte shadows as opposed to just shadows which is confusing because unless you test it you dont know does it mean recieve or cast or none or both?...thats what the guys at work tell me anyway.Dmitry Vinnik

btw: how would you prevent a matte object to cast shadow on other mattes?You can contact StudioGijs for 3D visualization and 3D modeling related services and on-site training.
