Dear VRay guys:
You rock!
I have been playing with diplacement recently, mostly for ground planes (dirt and grass especially). What I've been trying to do is to limit the area where displacement occurs to the area around the camera. I managed to wire a UVW Map Gizmo to the camera so that it moves when I change the view, and I wanted to use a gradient ramp assigned to this UVW to manage the falloff of the displacement map.
However, I'd really like to use the 2D Mapping Displacement, and in order to do this I need to have the gradient ramp in, say, mapping channel 2, with the displacement map in channel 1. At the moment I can only use channel 1.
Also, the displacement map is tiled even though I deselect tile in the Material Editor.
If this functionality was sorted, the Displacement would be awesome. It would be possible to have a huge scene with manageable displacement which would only be apparent on close-up views.
