On the subject of the VFB... since switching to the beloved linear workflow, when I click "duplicate to max frame buffer". The duplicate does not have the correct gamma and is therefor grayish and useless for comparing. Is there a way to make a correct duplicate?

Duplicate VFB with gamma correct

I second this as a wishlist - but i think that it might be because vray is duplicating the image into max which is then applying the gamma of 2.2, but on an already gamma correct image, thus double gamma correcting it.
This does pretty much render this button useless if you are using a linear workflow - apart obviously from positions etc. - but a lot of finer render work is all about colours, saturations, shadows etc. which is pretty annoying if you can't compare images. The last thing anyone needs is an increase in feedback time.

Well if you use Throbs method you can duplicate the VFB to the Max FB without double gamma correcting it. Simply unclick the Curves button and the VFB will go dark then hit the duplicate to Max FB button and you will get the same image as a corrected VFB image.
If you use gamma correction mapping there is not a option other than saving and viewing in a image viewing app.
I third your idea as far as gamma correction mapping goes as reviewing images gets to be a pain and slows production.rpc212
