  • DR Timeout

when a DR node fails for what ever reason why doesnt vray keep trying to refresh that connection, so if you restart that failed DR machine surely your control machine should pick it back up again? ..

Wish : more control please over DR
Wish : incremental DR, so large scenes wouldnt take so long to load on a DR node.
Wish: To add or to take away nodes at will.

Distributed vray rendering is now pretty solid but still has its limitations that really shouldnt be there..

I believe this is supported in the internal "more stable DR build"

I believe this is supported in so far that the internal "more stable DR build" can support animations.

Since you can't use any other windows of Max while rendering, and since there is obviously problems with using "interrupts" in the Max rendering status window (search the forum for the reasoning for the 'pause' button not working), I don't think this will be possible without having a seperate "DR Manager" similar to the Backburner Manager. Perhaps the Vray standalone will work this way?

    I think it's inevitable.

I wonder how FinalRender is able to do it. If you've ever tried it (I demo'd it, but still bought vray instead), it's the slickest one I've seen...add a server and it picks right up~
