  • per object dynamic-memory option

    hi all,
    i've a request for a feature release (i think it's too late for 1.5).

I've read that some vray feature like vrayproxy or vraydisplacement are loaded in memory in dynamic mode so they're loaded from disk without using Ram.

But some limits of this status is the impossiblity to use object with some modifiers as memory-dynamic object, so i ask this:

is possible to insert in vray properties a flag called for example "dynaminc memory" to check or uncheck to decide what object load in ram or not??

It would introduce a new workflow avoid the vrayproxy object....because every object "flagged" to "dynamic-memory" would be loaded from disk exactly vrayproxy now works and permit to use and animate modifiers and his parametres.

what do you think about this??

    best regards

the use of vray proxie is to have an object thats not in the scene. only a proxy place holder is in the scene. this reduces scene size making your scene use less ram. when rendering the proxie object uses the saved proxie file from the hard drive. if you put a flag on a 2million poly object in your scene then technically its not helping much, the model is still in the scene isnt it.
