  • VRay Fur on VRay Proxy or Fur within Proxies...

I have created a nice fir (fur) tree using base geometry and VRay fur fo rthe needles. Looks great. Now how can I get 500 of them in the scene easily?

Or am I barking up the wrong tree? We are trying to avoid opacity mapped trees and leaves... Maybe with conifers it is not feasible with today's technology.

i don't know why I didn't search first. Thanks for the reply though. I will probably end up with a scatter or partical flow method but I've been having out of memory crashes lately. We don't use the 3GB switch here... I hope we change that soon.

        hehe no problem.

Well you can still proxy with scatter or pflow. I found a neat script that turns any pflow mesh into a static mesh which can be used in proxy

Let me know if your keen for it.
