  • vraymesh keeping hierarchy

everytime I convert my model to a vraymesh it strips it of all the hierarchies I had set up. I wish it wouldn't do that.

i also wish it wouldn't reset its pivot point to 0,0,0 world coords.

Hi made a little script that we use alot here and maintains the pivot (or not) and the position of the objects, as well allowing for attaching grouped objects (good for archmodels and multiple objects models).

      http://www.4arq.net/stuff/4ArqScripts.zip

It should be extract to a dir in scripts/4ArqScripts.

      UI Help:

Create before - creates a max file with object before conversion
Create after - creates a max file with object after conversion
Collapse mesh - collapses modifier stack
Attach mesh - attach objects in group
Align to origin - moves object to origin before conversion then and restores the position
Remove transforms - removes rotation and scale before conversion and then restores (sometimes has a few problems use with care save before conversion)
Maintain group pivot - maintains the original group pivot else it sets to the center xy and lower z.

Note: Since when attaching objects there is a large amount of memory involve there is no undo for this. Also some messages are in portuguese i will updated to english as soon as i have some time.

The code isn't very clean but feel free to change it, but please share with the rest. I will try to update this tool often since we use it alot.
Sorry if the english isn't great.
