  • Render Elements Wish

    a. A dirtmap/AO element
    b. An element directory creation option - so all render element passes will be collected unto its own subdirectories automatically.

Its a pain wrangling through sequences and separating them for later comps. It would be a big time-saver if vray can automatically create sub-directories for each render pass.

When you use the 3dsmax VFB, the render elements, like the final image, are saved out by 3dsmax itself (not by V-Ray) and there is some control over where they get saved (there is an edit box with the folder name).

Thanks for the reply, Vlado. I was looking for something more elegant than having to manually create subdirectories. I thought since, Vray or Max's render elements defaults to the same folder as the render output path, maybe an auto-directory creation can speed things up. I'm the lazy type and I can't bear the thought of losing a few minutes with directories and paths specially when I got loads of passes to setup.

          Hi,

you have full access to the max output directory with maxscript. Get a scripter to write a small maxscript that generates the folders you need and set the pathes.

          Best regards,

          Dieter

It will go into the Atmospherics element, but you must use something other than black for the line color.

Mmmh, that's why i've never seen it... my lines are always black

Is it possible to make the lines appear only in the VRayAthmosphere element and not automatically blended into the main rendering ?

In general, yes - but it must be specifically coded into VRayToon.
