  • Irradiance Map Compilation

I've send an animation render this week end. 1230 frames...
The PC charged for IrrMap calculation had "An unexcepted error..." at frame 1180. So it restart the calculation from 1180 to 1230 rewriting the Irradiance Map.
In consequence, frames from 1180 to 1230 are well rendered, but not the others...
Save Maps per frame was checked.

Is there a possibility to have the calculation restarting from where it crashed still merging the Irradiance map ?
    I don't know if it's a problem thread or a Wishlist one ?

    Thanks for your help

well. you wrote over it so naturally it would be gone. what you needed to do was to use incremental add to current. and the trick with that is that if max crashed then it means there is no current. so what i normally do is i use the load feature. render 1 single frame, this will load the map into memory, then once its there you can go ahead and change it to incremental add to current. maybe something for the wishlist could be a simpler button thats marked "load map into memory" which by clicking it will open a browser for you to find the map then auto loads it to memory.

Thanks for the tip Da_elf. This will be my new process from now.

You can also merge the two separate maps into one using the Irradiance Map Viewer. But Da-Elf is right - that is the prefered method.
