Is it possible in future to have an option like aproximation editor in MR for Maya that make the displace directly in the 3D software

It will be helpfull to tweak displace before rendering, or to make ambient occlusion script, like this one: http://plugins.angstraum.at , working with displace.

    Thanks

there is a modifier called vrayDisplacementMod which does exectly that. I suggest you review the help here

I'm not stupid, I use it every day.

Or maybe my english is so poor that I can't be comprehensible.

What I want is some way to make vray calculating displacement before render and display it in the viewport.

I will be able to tweak easily the displacement, or collapse geometry (it will be intersting too)

look i dont want to argue here, but what you should understand is that displacement results in millions of triangles at render time. sometimes hundreds of millions. Today no 3d packedge can handle that many tris in the viewport.
If you want some kind of displacement approximation in viewport, use max conventional way.

Max displacement is not really efficient, and il will see max displcement, but not vray displacement.

It was just a question to knoow if it's possible. Zbrush can handle a huge amount of polygons, so why not in this case?

its because zbrush engine is designed for that. It would be more a request for autodesk then vray since vray is a renderer. Its upto max to display things in viewport.

Y know, but with the improvements made to viewport in max 9 and the coming of DX10, I have some dreams

Max viewport is still shit compared to basically everything else on the market.. sad but true.

Perhaps a proxy like low poly apporimation of the dispalcement would be handy. But it would still need to be calculated at some point.

How about a scripted modifier that uses Turbosmooth and Displacement modfiers (disabled on render) to give you viewport preview and then vraydisplacementmod for render?

Just tesselate it and use the regular max displace - it'll be slow though. You could set those the viewport only.
