  • Render object region

Sorry if this has been posted already....

I would like to make a rendering of only the area behind an object or objects in the scene (but not the object itself).

And/OR the option to use a render mask - like a previously created bitmap mask or alpha channel.

In principle the rendering of a region behind the object is well doable in maxscript.
Not the rest, though, just as easily.

Assign a perfectly transparent VRayMtl material to the object and use the VRayMtlSelect render element to extract just that material into a separate render element.
