  • VrayDirt include/excude

    Hello

It would be nice to have include/exclude option in Vraydirt map based on Object ID. (like in AO map in mental ray). Another option could be to have Checkboxes "cast occlusion" in vrayproperties. What do you think?

Yep, it has been requested before and will be added at some point.

You can work around this by saving a copy of your scene, ctrl & a and apply the dirt material to everything, then make a copy of the material, remove the dirt from it and apply it to the objects you want left alone.
It's a bit messy, but works.

... and to a lesser extent an include/exclude of reflection/refraction of an object in a material, why not based on Object ID too.

actually no. There could be a specific case where an object should recieve and AO from other objects but not cast the AO back at them. In this case your method would not work.
However cast/recieve option will do just that.

I was only offering a suggestion in the meantime so he could continue without the feature.

If you dont want it to contribute at all, right click and make it non renderable while youve got it selected during the material change.
