  • vrmesh into maxfile

imagen a dozend of vrmesh of 300mb in total
if you try to render in the renderfarm the nodes need AGES to render cos of the massive LAN traffic during the process
even 10mbit is not enoug to handle that - a copy to the nodes is the only solution but that causes user errors and makes an file update difficult

it whould be nice to have vrmeshes "inside" the maxfile to "compress on save" all data

Well, you can do this simply by not using proxies and leave the original geometry in the 3ds Max file.

Ah, I see. I was planning to have an importer of .vrmesh files for SP2, but did not have time to finish it...

        Best regards,
        Vlado

one check box like " involve vrmesh to scene" in the renderoptions whould be ideal

              Hello Vlado,

I've got a simple question about a Vrmesh importer :

We are using more and more proxies at work (archviz and more) and it's harder to keep proxies up to date (new versions, new ids, etc...)

Does the vrmesh importer will come to life soon or is it just plan and no time to do it ?

              Best regards...

PS : SP2 is great !!! Thanks, and thanks the team (Animated proxies are great !!!)

Here is a big problem: I lost the mesh object, have only a vrmesh made from it.
Now I have to edit the geometry, but how ???

Vlado - you wrote once, that you work on a plugin or script to reconvert the vrmesh into a mesh back. Is it ready to be used?

Or is there any older script or plugin to do this "import" ?.

                    Thank you and kind regards
                    Alexander
