I wish:
Vray had it's own way of interpreting complex map structures for the bump channel of the vray material.
As of v.1.5 sp2, it still needs the bump information fed as mono channel data (like scanline does as well), meaning that one cannot nest and mix lots of maps to make a complex bump map.
This may also be why one has to use additive mode when mixing 2 inputs through the compTex node. (But I'm not sure).
It would be a lot more user friendly if the only thing one needed was the luminosity\value info, like one can for the other channels (reflection, glossiness, etc.)
