  • VRay Render Elements with Stripes

We have here a lot of big print files to render and need Render Elements.
It would be very usefull if max/3ds would correctly create the Render Elements pics with "Spilit Scanlines" checked on, so wo could use our whole render-farm for the print-pics.
Now only one stripe is wrongly saved as the whole pic.

Your asking the wrong people! This is a native 3ds max problem, nothing to do with Vray.

I think we all share your need to strip render and get elements. Blame Autodesk.

If you disable VRay framebuffer, split scanlines works correctly, but only for regular render, still haven't found a way to get separated elements rendered this way :/

Have you tried rendering using .vrimg?

Or use buckets instead of strips: use Distributed Rendering for the print-pics

It would be best to talk to Autodesk about this issue; the problem is that 3ds Max does not correctly assemble the render elements, just the final RGB image, even though V-Ray renders everything properly.

          Best regards,

Try using Deadline instead of Backburner, it has a split tile rendering method which works for elements.
