  • I love Vray as it is but if could be...

maybe will sound strange my request....

I love Vray as it is but if could be possible to have more clean gi on indirect light areas would be great (better a lot better) surely is not so simple to realize.
I mean to not use vray light at windows to have the right illumination intensity using the only vraysky and vraysun the GI produced i'd like if could be less noisy with standard parameters.
Is needed to cranck up subds of lights and subds for irrad and LC so high that time for render become very long.
U'll tell why don't u use vray lights inside?
Because often to have right and more natural lighting situation beween exteriors parts and interiors in the same view seen (this is the case often force me to use not vray light with skylight portal that give innatural difference power of light from exterior and interior visible in the render).

Hope to have been clear with my bad english

So basically, your wishlist is that you want vray to render quicker?

Post an example image up with a copy of your settings, see if people can help you get the noise down.

Try using a dome light for your skylight, set to store and turn subs to 90-120

          are you using color adaptation?
          If not, try it.
That is there EXACTLY to make sampling in the darker areas more sensitive.

            WOW how many replies!

So to Lele i sent u an e-mail (with the file linked) this evening to ask some instructions
what do u mean if I do used color adaptation?AH u mean Adaptation only in color mapping? does it helps?Because i get a very noised glossies too on materials even if with no low subds all are over 18subds and noise threshold in DMC sampler section to 0.005
Is it possbile to use adaptation only to cal irrad map and LC solutions to reuse with adaptation off (getting so better GI calculated for better render) or at the end re-ativating it to final rendering produces again more noisy glossies materials?
(spero tu risponda alla mia e-mail in italiano)

Rerender: u catched proper the fact! I used domelight for shots that show interiors and exteriors and i got noised GI that seems doesn't want to free my scene, i used store to irrad map, with more than 64 subds (light panel) but i don't like the result a lot blurred GI seems.
The dome permits to me to avoid a lot of vraylight with skylight portal and seems faster respect this solution.I'll try more high subds as u suggests thanks

What do u mean Pg1? I didn't understand what u mean (my english is not so good)

thx for the reply to all

No you english is fine it was a lazy post by me, sorry for the confusion.
I pasted the wrong link by accident
I was trying to link to this thread
              http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...t=44730&page=3
Which talks about getting clean GI
Then I saw that you have already posted in this thread so you know it already.
