  • AO render element

    Hi,

Thanks for the updates in SP3...

Now we have AO is integrated into the GI engine, I think it would be logical to see an AO render element for comping purposes. Or does it appear on an exisitng element?

    Cheers,
    Olly

You can add a VRayExtraTex Element with a VRayDirt map as submap

      Sorry I wasn't very clear.

We're used to creating AO passes using the dirt map approach, but I'm suggesting an AO render element to enable you to reconstruct a render from it's component passes (gi, reflect, refract, light, specular etc) that was rendered using the new integrated AO function...

      Cheers,

I think it would be a handy feature as well.

It does show up in the GI passes (VRayGlobalIllumination, VRayTotalLighting, etc...) so you can reconstruct it if need be but I don't think it can be extracted separately.
