  • Inclusive, Exclusive and Nonself Ambient Occlusion

I'm wondering if there is a way to selectively work with occlusion. There is a way of doing this in max, to exclude objects in VRayDirt.

This method doesn't allow as much control as I use in MR using the miLabel attribute (as described here).

I find that being able to set objects to receive occlusion, but not do self occlusion to be quite useful. This is also nice when used in conjunction with render layer overrides on the occlusion node. Thanks,

    Jens

Yep, ignoring self-occlusion is not possible right now; in 3ds Max, sort of a work-around is to turn off the cast shadows flag of the object and enable the "Work with transparency" option in VRayDirt.

I will log this as a wish though.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
