I wonder if there is a plan to offer a cheap or free vray version for beginners or for users who don't want or can't buy the big giant bloated thing.
I remember vray 1.09x as a very fast and streamlined vray and i still think that it could be a strong competitor in the market when you want fast, nice looking but not 100% accurate results.
There was a free version, but i didn't find it on the chaosg website anymore, but IMHO the full vray 1.09x would be a nice free entry version of vray.
I remember 1.4x as the version which offers vray objects , vrayproxies, and opacitymaps with the vray material, which were really big enhancements over vray 1.09x.
This could be a cheap basic "nice price" version with maybe an streamlined upgrade path to the newest 1.5x version.
The reason why i'm asking, is that in the last course where i'm teaching max all of the ppl told me that vray is to expensive for them.
