  • Displacement excluded from lightcache

After testing displacement and the time it takes for the lightcache to calculate it, would it be possible to have an option to exclude (either as a scene option or per object option) the calc for the displacement. So vray would calc the objects LC as if displacement was not applied to the object.. the final difference between the 2 is negligable.

Yep, this was requested so we will probably try to do something about it.

    Best regards,

Wouldn't it be possible to set different IRR and LC settings on a per object basis ?
On proxied trees and displaced grass for example low or medium settings are mostly more then enough, while other geometry, like buildings, often need far higher settings...

The same goes for area shadows. In exterior renderings I mostly just need some softer shadows, but the time it takes to render proxy trees with soft shadows is often not justifiable.

BTW: 10K posts calls for a party...
