In general a great idea, but some of my customers would kill me if they´d figure we
send their stuff all around the world to unknown people for rendering. Even
if they claim it´s totally save.

IMO it cannot be safe from the principle of it. At some point there must be raw data of the scene in the memory.
Definitelly not safe with raytracing type of renderer...

V-Ray standalone is a command-line application and has all the necessary parameters for supporting such a system by anyone interested; however, as pointed out, data confidentiality might be a concern.
