The Architectural material has a button that will average the colour of the (usually diffuse) map; this is great for situations where a paint has to match a fabric, for instance. I use the Arch mat for this as a workaround by copy/pasting the resulting copy into the Vray mat swatch, but it would be nice if Vray had it built in.
