ok this is going to sound weird. but can you do a toggle so that vray sun/sky system can be transfered to nighttime scene with a toggle to be like moonlight?

I think I remember vlado saying once that the research paper at the heart of the sun/sky system does not include a night model, hence no correct vray model. IE I wouldn't hold your breath.

Well we're using different models already (Preetham, CIE) hence another model might fit in nicely....

      :P

Contains models for both appearance and illumination created by the moon, the stars, the zodiacal light, and the atmosphere

would that include features like the longer the render took, the brighter the image becomes, to simulate your eye adjusting to the dark
and would you need to have polar aligned cameras with rotation adjustment to stop the stars streaking :P
(sorry - just being a sad geek amateur astronomer - so I'm now going to finish reading the paper to found out)
