  • Vrimg - Photoshop plugin

I know it's come up before, but I would *love* to see a plugin to open vrimg files in photoshop with all the elements as layers. I know that there is the pro-exr plugin option too, but since the history palette is using vrimg and it can carry all the RE so nicely I'd love to just switch to that format. It's just a PITA to have to convert/remerge/manually composite etc.

I would happily pay for it as an add-on thing

that would be nice! I use the vray tool to convert the vrayimg into an exr and I open it using EXRPro, which brings in all the elements. it would be nice to have all the raw data that makes up the whole pre-comped.

Would be awesome but gets extremely complicated with different gamma setups colour management etc.... I've never managed to get Photoshop to recreate the layers correctly as a 2.2 correction is different to Vray's internal 2.2 correct.

I would be happy just to get the layers into Photoshop automatically. The rest I'm okay with tweaking on my own.

Yep - load image files as stack or whatever. It works fine, but you still need to render all the passes separately, or convert the vrimg to separate files and load them. It's clearly doable, but this is one of those tasks that could be automated and save a lot of time because it needs to be done so often. It would also be nice, from an organizational POV, to not have a million separate files for each iteration of the a job. One nice clean vrimg per render would be better.
