  • Vray cam clip plane to align with the perspective correction

Correct me if im wrong, but the clip plane is now always perpendicular to the camera-target axis?

Would be nice if this could be changed.

Can you explain a bit more? Is this for the physical camera or a standard 3ds Max one?

    Best regards,

I may have mistaken. Now no matter what i do i get quite odd results.

The clip plane shown in read does not change with the the camera projection planes when they change because of the shift parameters. If you increase the shift, you'll see the camera cone changing, but the red clip plane stays the same. I had an issue where i was clipping the wall at an angle, but now im confused as i can't seem to recreate it.

        Not sure

Not sure why i couldn't reproduce this in a test scene, but here i am having trouble in an actual project.

I to am having the same issue. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Basically, when I create a vray physical camera and I'm using vertical correction, the clipping plane starts to tilt at an angle, and cuts my section at an angle giving some un desired results; even though the actual viewport shows it accurately.

I've also tried the vertical shift while having vray physical camera and target at the same z height, which still give the same problem. The cutting plane works a charm when both the camera and target are at the exact same z height, but once you move things around, it seems like the only solution is to cut geometry with a slice plane (*which I'd rather not, as it's kind of messy in most cases).

              Thanks,

              Mike

I think I understand the issue - it happens only when you use vertical shift, right? I logged this as a feature request.

                  Great, looking forward to it.

Yes it happens during two circumstances in my experience.

                  1. during a vertical shift
                  2. when you move the camera target above or below the z heighth of the camera, then apply a vertical correction amount to the camera.
