  • Dmc samples render element

    Hi Folks!

I'm going to be sitting down and figuring out my method for getting speed / quality quite soon. I've a few film res renders with gi and trees so they'll be good ones to play with in terms of optimisation. I've read a few times that the vray sample rate element in the render elements shows you to amount of AA / image rays being used for each pixel in your render which is one part of the equation with the second being the dmc samples? I use the term dmc samples to cover material, area light / shading, motion blur and dof. Would it be possible to have a second render element that shows the amount of these samples too? The idea being that maybe if you had material samples in the red channel, lighting samples in the blue and motion blur in the green (again just an idea - not sure if it'd work like this) you'd be able to see what objects are maybe low in image samples but slowing you down in terms of other samples.

I could be totally wrong about how the additional sampling is combined after image samples in vray so this idea might be totally wrong for how vray works but its a thought - again if the information is already there in the renderer, might be useful to have!

    Cheers,

    John
