  • SelfIllum in the Vray mtl

I'm sure this has been requested many times before but my current project would really benefit from it. I'm replicating a scanning electron microscope image and self-ilum makes this so easy. Unfortunately using the vray light mtl doesn't give you the possibility to use bump unless its nested in a shellac. its a shame i cant use the standard mtl in its place for some of these effects. Brazil made this easy as well as it had self ilum in the advanced mtl.

One more vote for self ilum in the vray mtl please.

    Thanks!

    -Michael

p.s. I use it for mattes all the time as well but its not always possible to switch over to scanline especially when using displacement.

It's on the "to do" list; in the meantime simply use a VRayBlendMtl material to layer a VRayLightMtl material with a regular one.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.
