  • Transmissive coloer for the VRayEnvironmentFog

    Vlado-
We are doing some volume rendering at work right now and im stumbling a bit.

Would you please add Transmission color As a mapped option for the VRayEnvironmentFog? I may be missing something but cant seem to get the volume to affect shadow color currently.

also maybe you can look at the blender implementation for reflection color as you can get some nice effects that way.

    Thanks!

Yep, colored transparency is on the to do list. In the mean time, you can also play with the FastSSS2 shader, which is also a simple volumetric shader. To get colored shadows, make sure that the single scatter mode is set to "Raytraced (refractive)" and see how the scatter color and sub-surface color interact to produce colored volume and shadows. You may also need to increase the scatter distance quite a lot to get more light in the material.

        Vlado-

Sweet, good to know. But I gather the real difference in shading is that the FastSSS2 only shades at the surface. Im sure i could treat it as a shado only pass. Not to hold you too it but when might you be adding in that addition just so I can have a timeframe?

        Thanks!

It depends on how urgent you need this, but I would guess about a week...
