  • F-edge style displacements

It would rock to have an adition to vray's excellent displacement modifier where it affects edges ala f-edge. It loads similar info as to the vrayedgesmap, but actually produces geometric chamfers or fillets. it would help get edges more realistic and natural when receiving GI, or when casitng reflections (some nice speculars).

      That would be awesome
would be cool to maybe see just add it to the VRayEdges map.

But why not just make the edges beveled by hand? I think displacement is a pretty over-the-top solution for such a simple problem.

anyone who has used fedge will know why, but here is my go:

Keep the scene simple will make max easier to work with.
Being able to slightly chamfer edges on a material o modifier basis is a great tool fo arch viz, where you manage huge datasets, and are not able, or not have the time to bevel most of the geometry you would like to bevel.

Being an architectural artist, i support this idea also.
