  • AntiAlias - DMC Sampler - Option to NOT antialias the object edges [For DOF]

    Hi Vlado,

Would it be possible to have the DMC AA sampler to leave the object edges untouched so that it can be used easily with post DOF.
Just like the Adaptive Sampler's object edges option..but in reverse

It would be great to get it to AA everything except the edges.
This would make doing DOF in post a breeze & much less problematic as well.

    Thanks for your time

That would be pretty much the same as turning off filtering, no ? I dont think that is really possible in the way you imagine. Well...it would be
possible to create that kind of element, but it wouldnt fix your DOF issues heh

      Regards,
      Thorsten

        Not really.
I want it to filter everything other than edges with DMC to stop flickering but to only used fixed 1x1 filtering for the edges to get a proper edge for DOF in post.
If i use fixed 1x1 I get a perfect DOF edge in post but things flicker too much such as glossys that haven't been antialiased enough. Is there a way around this?

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough the first time
        Thanks
        Jamie

PS. Congrats on becoming a father .....TIP for new parents....SLEEP as much as possible...lol

Another issued be that you might get shitty edges on the objects that are in focus too?

I am not sure i get what you mean anymore to be honest, so i take back whatever i said hehe

The "object edges AA multiplier" would be nice but is tricky i guess as it was requested quite some times already if that is what you mean.
For post DOF we are only talking about the z element ?

In Regards to your TIP...thanks...i would....if it was my choice :P
