We would either have to make the shape of IES lights visible, or add IES profiles to the VRayLight. I have not yet decided which way to go, but in any case it won't be done for the SP either.

What about the fluorescent tube? The first request dated back to 2011, so did I miss something in beetween?
Lot of us dislike to use the trick of vray mesh light because it is not straight forward.
Vray is a tools for Designer/architect not for Guru CG artist, so the simplest the better.
