I want to use the DR client as a server while distributed rendering. It is possible but current implementation requires two 3dsmax.exe's running when rendering, other for the client and other for the server. This means that the scene is loaded twice. If I have a scene barely fitting to the memory it is impossible to use the client as a server.
Why the client 3dsmax.exe is not automatically used as one of the servers?
Could there be an option (in future releases) that would enable the client 3dsmax.exe with the scene already loaded to act as a server? Then there would be no reason to load the scene "twice".
