  • Object oriented Image Sampling (DMC)

Maybe there is already a way, but I did not find it:

It would be great to enhance image-sampling based on objects. This might especially for Hipoly objects that would tend to produce heavy noise in animations.

We are just having the issue of Hipoly trees against a sky: the sky (and other simpler objects) does not need any extra sampling, but the trees need a minimum value of 3 and more, to catch the fine branches. It is a "waste" of rendertimes to crank up the sampling substantially just because of a few objects.

Same goes for cars that need fine sampling to catch fine seams ...

If it is technically doable at all, I could imagine some spinner in the VrayProperties settings ...

    Best regards, Peter

P.S.: Of course we are happy for any hints in the current version as well!

I want the opposite. For stills it is irrelevant if there is noise in a tree or grass, because it's a noisy surface anyway. But I need glossy surfaces to be 100% clean.
Looking forward to noise threshold overrides for objects.
