  • VrayMtl Enviroment map mix Value Input

The title pretty much says it
why do all the other maps have a "value" input possibility and the Environment does not?
    ...or is this nonsense?

i imagine that it would come in very handy for reflective materials in studio environments. and what expected effect i would really be looking forward to, is be able to mix the amount.

Mix the amount with what? For the other textures, the amount for the texture simply mixes the texture color with the respective solid color in the material. There is no color for the environment though.

    Vlado

Could you use a standard Mix map or a vrayCompTex in the environment map of the material?

@ Vlado: no, i meant it to mix with the actual existing environment, like a vrayLight setup, for example. so if i would have a chrome object in a existing 3d environment, and would not be happy with the appearance of my material, i could mix in a hdri in the environment map slot. when i now drop in a hdri in the slot it will just have the reflections of the hdri and will look completely misplaced in the scene. but if would be able to tweak it until it match my eye.

i admit its a bit illogical in consideration of how the other do mix, but for me it is really in a sense of the environment slot
